How to get rid of MyWay extension from Mac

I have no idea how this found its way onto Chrome. I must have been sleepwalking as I'm usually very careful what I click on. Download, free, Malwarebytes: https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/mac/ Download, install , open, and run it by clicking “scan for adware” button to remove adware. All done - it worked for me on Mac OS High Sierra!  By the way, downloading Chrome or Safari again will not get rid of the damn thing.

The Spinning Beach Ball of Death and Dropbox

Do you have the Spinning Beach Ball of Death and have Dropbox installed? Get rid of it - it uses too much memory. To check, go to: Applications Utilities Activity Monitor Memory If it's green, all is more or less good - if it's amber or red, MacOS is having problems managing memory. Quit any applications using too much memory, and put a stop to Dropbox: Click on the Dropbox item icon and choose "Preferences". In the Account tab, choose "Unl...

Safe mode (sometimes called safe boot) is a way to start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks and prevents some software from automatically loading or opening. Starting your Mac in safe mode does the following: Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed Loads only required kernel extensions Prevents startup items and login items from opening automatically Disables user-installed fonts  Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files If your Mac has an issue that goes away when you start up in safe mode, you might be able to isolate the cause . Start up in safe mode To start up in safe mode: Start or restart your Mac, then immedia...
